No place for xenophobia
These pictures were in part commissioned by and published in local newspaper ‘Braunschweiger Zeitung’ and document the citizens of Braunschweig’s rise against local “Bragida” branch of the German “Pegida” movement (stands for “Patriotic Europeans Against the Islamisation of the Occident”) in the aftermath of the Charlie Hebdo shooting in Paris in January 2015. In late 2015, every Monday thousands of local people gathered in the city center to protest against concurrent demonstrations of the “Bragida” group.
